January 23, 2009: Door Day!

The Homecoming Committee gave teachers the rules and guidelines for Friday's Door Decorating EVENT recently. Each class has been planning its strategies and supply lists. Tomorrow, these plans will be executed in a big way! To ensure this event goes smoothly, here are some things to remember:

Door Decorating Rules:

Students may bring breakfast or snack items Friday, Jan. 23, for when they are decorating the doors in the morning.  No food or drink leaves the classroom; everything must be cleaned up at the end of the door decorating event.  Students DO NOT have permission to go get items after they arrive at school (no runs to Bojangles!).  We will still have break as usual.

Students will not be allowed to roam the halls tomorrow.  They have absolutely no reason to leave the immediate vicinity of their homeroom door other than to go to the restroom (passes!). Students will have the opportunity to view all the doors after the decorating is over. 

REMINDER: Students must bring all of their supplies for the door.  They can’t make runs to Wal-mart or the art room or call parents to bring in items. 

Spirit Days!!

Homerooms can receive “Hollywood Stars” throughout homecoming week for their school spirit. To possess the “stars,” you must win spirit competitions such as Best Dressed on Spirit Days, Best Spirit Banner, and Best Decorated Door. Whoever has the most stars at the end of the week wins.  The announcement will take place at the Pep Rally on Friday afternoon, January 30.

High school Prize: Casual day pass for the month of May
Middle school prize: Casual day pass for the month of May
Elementary school prize:  Casual day pass for the month of May

Monday, Jan. 26 – Western Day (No guns)
Tuesday, Jan. 27 – 50/60’s Day
Wednesday, Jan. 28 – Princess/Super Hero Day
Thursday, Jan. 29 - Animal Day (dress as your favorite animal)
Friday, Jan. 30 - Crossroads Colts Spirit Day (CCS attire)

*CCS dress code applies to all the dress-up days.
NOTE: Students can wear jeans every day ONLY if the jeans are part of their costume.
